Citations To Remain Inactive for 2012
It is with deep regret that the Citations are announcing that we are suspending our efforts to field a competitive Corps for the 2012 season. Our recruiting team undertook a titanic effort to recruit students for this season, and their efforts could not have been matched, their work effort, attention to detail and outside the box thinking lead to nearly 200 inquiries about the corps. Unfortunately, this level of interest proved to not be sustainable, and as the time for the January camp approached, it was evident to us that the members simply were not there to warrant us moving forward. Citations exist for the purpose of providing students the opportunity experience drum corps, and uphold our corps' values of honor, commitment, loyalty and excellence in everything we do. Keeping those values in mind, it was decided that we owed our students and staff the option of pursuing other options for the 2012 season, rather than to continue forward hoping for the best, even as we faced the worst. We do not know what the future for the Citations hold, and we will continue to explore options to see if there is an avenue for our return that makes sense. In the mean time, we extend a heartfelt thank you to the Drum Corps Community of New England and beyond. Your support was key in our efforts to bring the corps back. Best of luck this 2012 season, remember Citations are with you in spirit, and we hope to see you on a field down the road.
If you are interested in still pursuing drum corps this season there are other local options. The following corps are still welcoming membership and we encourage you to stop by one of their camps or rehearsals to participate. Both are excellent programs comprised of terrific people.

JANUARY CAMP CANCELLATION
In preparation for this weekend's camp, it has become very apparent to the staff and management that the attendance at this camp would be critically low. The rsvps and emails from the students have indicated several school performance conflicts and mid-term exam preparation - both very important.
Unfortunately, we feel that without a minimum number of students attending, we will not be set up for success and thus will not be able to meet the goals of the January camp.
In an effort to be proactive and to respect each section's productivity, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the January camp. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused, but we feel it's the right thing to do for the students as a group.

Reminder: Rehearsal Sunday December 11th
Thanks again to everyone who attended and helped out with the November 19th Open House! And if you are someone still thinking about joining but couldn't make, don't worry, there's still time to join.
Our next rehearsal is on December 11th (this coming Sunday) from 9am to 5pm at Memorial School, 125 Winn St. in Burlington, MA and you and your friends are invited to attend!
Brass players should bring their own mouthpiece and percussionists should bring their own sticks/mallets. Those interested in Color Guard can come in at 9am, fill out paperwork and meet the staff, but there will not be Color Guard rehearsal. All Brass and Percussion will be in sectional time from 9am to 5pm.
Please be sure to bring a bagged lunch, a music stand and enough water for the day! Also wear sneakers and something that is comfortable to move in!
If you are interested, you should come by and experience the fun. Also, if there are any lingering questions, e-mail us at: citationsdbc1967@gmail.com.
